Description
The is the last part of the intermediate route down Silver Mountain. The trail is fast and flowing in sections, but can have a fair amount of braking bumps towards the end of the season since it is one of the primary routes.
Wildcat begins with wide singletrack with low berms. Some sections are quite fast, and others will require a little pedaling to maintain the pace. A "gotcha" root cluster rewards riders who are riding light on their suspension and forces unsuspecting riders to put on the brakes.
The singletrack narrows before a sweeping right-hand turn serves up a few small tabletops. Wildcat plays around in the woods some more before heading into a loose dive. Ahead, the trail alternates between blazing fast straightaways and gravelly corners. Then it's back into the trees for a short pedal that unleashes a final clearcut straightaway.
The next section of Wildcat is arguably the most fun. The trail here is fast, flowing, rewards pumping, and goes on for quite a while. I've heard it fondly called "lower backache" by the end of the day.
Wildcat dishes up one last turn before the ribbon of singletrack ends in a chunky descent onto a public road across from
Frog Trees.
