Description

The Oswego County Trail is a point-to-point route that follows an abandoned right-of-way of the old New York Ontario & Western Railroad between Cleveland and Fulton. The trail is actually in two segments, divided by Interstate 81 in the village of Central Square.

The trail is a straightforward route without much meandering. It passes through scenic countryside and hardwood forests. Occasionally, the trail surface is rough.

Many of the railroad bridges have been preserved and resurfaced as crossings.

This is a multi-use route open to hikers, mountain bikers, ATVs, and snowmobiles.

Flat, muddy, soft in some areas, pretty typical rail-trail. You do need to detour via local roads to get across I81. 47mi — 3h 00m

Flat, muddy, fast rolling. No support facilities. Had to detour on busy routes to get around I-81. 55mi
