Description

The Dismal River Trail is a smooth, packed sand route with lots of changes in elevation and terrain. It runs from the Bessey Campground complex on its north end to the Dismal River on its south end.

Although the landscape doesn't change that much, you'll constantly be winding and undulating through a mix of pine forest and open meadows. Long, flat straightaways will give way to short, punchy climbs and descents while sections of tight trees will open into views across the grass tops.

The route can be done as an out-and-back or combined with the Poison Ivy Trail #114 and the Fenceline Trail #115.

Knee deep sand that is hard to ride for any distance.
