The trail starts at the SP45 provincial road near the Agriturismo Ferrin (Bed & Breakfast, Restaurant).

From SP45, the trail starts with a geometry quiz. There are three trails that branch from SP45 in this area towards the north. The one to the left is blazed with double red rhombuses; the one in the center is blazed with double red diamonds; and the one on the right is not blazed with any trail markers.

You want the one in the center blazed with double red diamond trail blazes. About 0.3 miles past SP45, you'll reach an intersection with the small Church of San Giocamo. If you don't quickly reach this church, you must have failed geometry.

Continue straight past the church for a short distance on a paved road until the Agriturismo Arma. Just beyond the Agriturismo Arma to the left you can visit the Grotto dell'Arma which is a large cave featuring paleological exhibits.

The trail continues to the right of the Agriturismo Arma and shortly thereafter becomes an earthen doubletrack. This section runs in and out of a creek bed so you should plan to get a little wet. It is not too difficult, but you may have some rocks and branches in the trail to contend with. The trail ends at the intersection with the via Julia Augusta near the Ponte delle Voze (Roman bridge).
