Description

Don't be confused, this trail has two options heading north from the parking lot. This is by far the more popular route for bikers as it isn't as steep or technical. The other option has at least one section that is a certain "hike-a-bike" and is the better downhill, south-bound option.

The climb is at its steepest at the very beginning so if you're just setting out this is certainly an unforgiving start. The trail's gradient gradually lessens however, and the climb becomes a nice, rhythm-friendly experience.

The trails many switchbacks keep things interesting as you keep those legs churning. From the top, you'll have the option of continuing on the Chamisa Trail #183 to the Winsor Trail or taking Saddleback Trail #232 over to the Burn Trail #399 and/or Carol Trail. There are many options here for any size of ride.
