Description

If you are camping at Leo Carrillo, ride down to the parking lot by the underpass as if you were going to the beach, cross the bridge and make a right onto Mulholland Hwy. On your left, you'll see a slightly overgrown dirt road gated off. This is your "trailhead". Go around the gate and start your climb to the top.

It's a somewhat challenging climb due to the length, but the view and way down are worth it in the end. Once you get to the gate near the top, which marks the western boundary of the park, catch your breath, enjoy the view, then turn around and head down the way you came.

It's clear this area has seen recent rain (judging by the trail), but otherwise it's pretty fun.
