Slippery when wet. Mud can stick on this trail longer than the surrounding singletrack.
Description
This bi-directional trail starts right across from
Jon's Joyride and has three entrances. On the first entrance, farthest on the rider's right, is a small rock that can be jumped or rolled. The second entrance is a twister alternative that hooks on to the first entrance. The final entrance is the shortest but the fastest for maximum speed if you need help clearing the jump after the gravel crossing.
After the jump, you'll pick up speed but eventually get to more technical sections. These include log-overs, rollers, and rock features.
Finally, you'll come to a part of the trail with a beginner, more difficult, and expert line. The more difficult line contains a rock bridge with a rock-roll requiring sufficient bike-handling skills. The expert line consists of a wooden skinny, three feet above the ground with a very technical rock garden immediately afterwards. At the end is a 1.5-foot drop. Not a big deal if you had speed, but that is limited here.
The trail finishes with a fast turn and a couple hard-packed berms when it's DRY. Deer Skull can get very slippery after rain so be careful. It definitely is a challenge under those conditions. Deer Skull pops out on a gravel path only a few feet away from
Tim's Trail and
D-Park Trail making it very convenient.
Have fun and rip it!
