This is an informal and unmarked, yet legal, trail within Michaux State Forest. This trail, and others that are nearby, are currently under assessment by the land manager toward a more static and stewarded trail system. Cutting a new trail or re-routing is considered illegal. As such, do not cut new trails without approval, observe potential future trail closings and official re-routing, and minimize your impact while riding. Avoid riding during PA hunting seasons.

Description

This is a doubletrack that is overgrown in places with downed trees, so it can feel like singletrack in some places. It is called the Hammond Doubletrack because it passes behind, or on the south side of, the popular Hammond Rocks. It is one of the better options in terms of linking up Glory Hole and Vista trails.
