Description

FS42-1 is an easy, mostly paved road that connects the main highway GA60 to the Bull Mountain area. FS42-1 ends at the Gooch Gap parking area, but the road continues as the gravel Cooper Gap Road FS42-2. The Appalachian Trail crosses the road at Gooch Gap and Cooper Gap, but it is off limits to bikes.

These roads are great for riding if the Bull Mountain trails are too wet or if it's freeze-thaw season. Wear orange if it's hunting season.
