Parts of the trail in the valley can hold moisture after it rains.

Description

This outer loop is best ridden clockwise from where it starts off the Blue Trail. There's a sharp climb at the beginning and then the route leads through a field before re-entering the woods. Once in the trees, you'll find that you are riding along the top of a ridgeline parallel to Highway 31.

There are some technical twists and turns topside, until the trail ultimately loops back around through fast turns to head back downhill to get you into the valley. The Red Trail ends with a long and fast straightaway that will eventually slow and loop back around to return to the Blue Trail. This is a good loop for a little "recovery" after heading out to this end of the network.
