Description
This is a steep connector trail from Burro Lane in the Peak 7 neighborhood west of Breckenridge to the Iowa Hill Trailhead along Airport Road near the Breckenridge Terrace Apartments.
Iowa Hill is a steep climb or a brake-heavy descent. The trail begins about 400 feet north of Ski Hill Road on the north side of Burro Lane, and descends through some banked turns before dropping steeply through an hydraulic mining area. The trail climbs briefly (there is an historic cabin at this point worth a side trip) then switches back across a forested hillside west of Airport Road, finishing at the trailhead.
It is possible to connect to the
Peaks Trail to or from Burro Lane via a series of social singletrack found at the south end of Brook Street. This is in the National Forest and does not require trespass. Follow singletrack through the clear cut between the green gate at the north end of Unnamed Singletrack to Brook Street for loop options.
