Overview
Need to Know
In addition to using active roads and crossing motorized vehicle trails, all of the trails on this loop are multi-use. Be on the lookout for hikers and equestrian riders. If you plan on doing some exploring, bring a map to help guide you!
Description
Park after the bridge on the Hunt Camp Road. You'll see signage for
Burl Tree Way #717, head up this trail about 50 feet to reach the start of
Morgan Trail #718 on the right.
Morgan has some fun cross-country up and down riding with technical ascents and descents mostly due to loose rock. You'll cross the
Rocky Mountain Loop OHV #92 trail twice and then Dickey Bell OHV #91 before crossing Dutch John Road to take a left on
Hang Glider Trail #719. There's no signage here, just follow the salmon/pink paint.
Hang Glider is a good climb (and maybe a hike-a-bike) to the top of the hill where the trail T's at an intersection. Head right for the summit for the views. When you get back to the intersection, take the other option onto the
Buttermilk Trail #720. This long technical descent ends on Cotton Place Road across from
River Trail #713. If you're feeling adventurous you can take the
River Trail #713, but it involves a lot of bushwhacking and spider webs if it's at all overgrown.
Otherwise, head left onto the road as mapped for just shy of 1.5 miles of easy pedaling. Where the road intersects with
Burl Tree Way #717, head left for a steady but manageable ascent up rutted doubletrack. This will give way to some rolling, somewhat flowy singletrack that makes a fun descent back down to where the ride started.
