The road is usually closed to motorized traffic in mid-winter due to snow accumulation.

Description

The Pillar Mountain Road provides either a bike ride or a shuttled drive to the top of Pillar Mountain. From the top, there are some singletrack options to make a nice loop.

Those opting for the road ascent will find limited parking near the green water tanks where the paved road ends. This is a great place to begin as many trails end near this location. The climb is about 1000' over 2.1 miles. Most conditioned riders can complete the summit in about 30 minutes or less. Views from the top are stunning!
