Overview
This route has some really fun downhill and a few somewhat flowy sections. This makes for a nice quick ride after work.
Description
From the
Morris Loop Trail on Morris Hunt Drive, head north on
Morris Loop along a fairly smooth trail that leads to
Birkshire Loop - Morris Loop Connector, which has a rope swing about halfway through. Then you'll cross Birkshire Heights to get to the
Birkshire Loop; take the right side of the split. At the beginning of the trail, there are two massive hills you may need to walk up; overall the trail is smooth and flowy with many ups and downs. Once you get to the top, take the
Powerline Trail - Birkshire Loop Connector which splits off to the right.
Cross Birkshire Heights again and continue on the
Powerline Trail - Birkshire Loop Connector, which is relatively flat once you get into it. At the end, there is another hill that might pose a challenge. Once you get to the intersection at the top, continue past the
Powerline Trail onto the
Blue Heron Trail - Powerline Trail Connector, which is a blast to ride down. When you get to the end of
Blue Heron Trail - Powerline Trail Connector turn right onto the
Blue Heron Trail.
At the end of the
Blue Heron Trail, turn left onto the
McBride Hwy Trail and continue all the way up until you reach Allison Park. Exit the park and take a right onto Founders Street, a right on Elis Way, then a left onto Settlers Heights Dr. and continue until you see a trailhead to the right. This will drop you onto
Stratford Run Drive - McBride Highway Connector which is another downhill wonder. Once you reach the end of
Stratford Run Drive - McBride Highway Connector take a left onto
Powerline Trail Connector and continue over Morris Hunt Drive until you reach the
Wayback Trail. Take a right and go around the bend and the next trail to your right will be
Morris Loop where you began.
