Description

Ana's Trail starts near the highest point of the Palisades Canyon Loop and runs west around a hill before heading south on a nearly 2.0-mile, technical singletrack descent. The start of the trail is a Moab-like descent into an arroyo.

From there the trail continues up through a beautiful rock bowl before the rocky, technical singletrack begins. The singletrack part of this trail is meant to be ridden north to south; if you insist on riding it in the opposite direction you may find yourself hiking a good part of the way.

The singletrack section is quite narrow, has a steep drop off to the west for most of it and many tricky, rocky sections and a few technical arroyo crossings. The switchbacks near the end are quite a challenge and require precise line choice. The trail ends on private property but at least one of the two landowners is mountain biker friendly and a mountain biker himself.

Another challenging short climb. Hike it if you have to, the downhills are worth it.

Solid rock sections give you a taste of Moab.

You'll likely be hiking up some of the steepest sections, luckily they are short.
