Description
Fenceline Trail could be another great loop similar to
Ewok Village or
Piney Creek. It's located west of Dry Creek proper and south of the Tabegauche Road. This is another rough, but good, addition to the Dry Creek network and worth doing if you've ridden Ewok too many times.
The approach to the singletrack is similar to reach the top of
Piney Creek. Head up the Tabeguache Road and take a spur road to the south 100 yards to a BLM sign for Fenceline (boring name). Note the BLM trailhead map also calls this section "The Porkchop" (much better)! To ride this in the easiest direction, continue southwest up the doubletrack for 0.5 miles then take a left at another singletrack marker.
Expect a long, rocky and, at times, loose downhill for starters then follow the undulating trail down river above Dry Creek through a few tricky bits. The setting is great and there is lots of geology to add to the scenery. A final long uphill returns to the first BLM sign.
There are a few steep hike-a-bike pitches no matter which direction the trail is ridden. Note this trail was created by and continues to be used by motorcycles.
