Description
There aren't that many trails in northwest Ohio. You might wander here just to shake things up. It is not the most impressive trail, but it's decent for those with little experience.
You enter the trail through a tree line and flow down onto a gravel road which connects to many trails in the area. Follow this trail for maybe 100 yards until you come up to the entrance for the bike trail. The flow for this trail is periodically marked with blue dots on the trees. Many hiking trails intersect the biking trail, so pay attention on where you are turning. Dots will appear every now and then to let you know you are on the right path.
When you see two dots in close proximity, it means a turn is coming up at an intersection with another trail. Glance around for another lone dot letting you know which direction to head. It is easier to follow than you think. I did find however that most of the turns are to the left. Most of the trail is slow going at around 5 mph. There are a few flow areas where I got up to 11 mph.
Things to note:
- About 20% of the trail is through dense foliage on either side. Your arms and legs are definitely going to come into contact with a lot of plants. Something to keep in mind if your skin is easily irritated.
- Hikers are allowed on areas of the biking trail along with their pets. Keep an eye out.
Conclusion: It's a great trail for beginners or for just getting an easy ride in. It's not the most glamorous, but I've seen worse.
