OK for young adults, but otherwise it's too hard.
Overview
This is a nice wooded loop from La Sarraz. The first section can be tricky to navigate, so keep your eyes on the
MTB Project mobile app so that you don't lose your way. The return back to La Sarraz following along the Nozon is a really fun section. If you have time, it's worth a visit to Romainmotier, which is a beautiful village.
Description
Starting from the public pool in La Sarraz, you'll head west across the Bois de ChĂȘnes - Echilly Reserve forest, riding on plenty of wooded trail. Be careful to follow the GPS track and
MTB Project mobile app here.
Continue along the trail, heading north, until the nice village of RomainmĂŽtier. Here, you'll continue your ascent on some roads to reach the point 864, crossing with the road coming from Juriens to find the
Sentier du Nozon. Take this trail back east and downhill to discover the Nozon canyon. After 150m, look for a small trail that's not easy to find, be attentive to the right of the road.
The first part until the small bridge is named "Creux du Bossu" and is technical. Take special care during wet conditions! In peak season, the vegetation can be overgrown, which can hide the trail in some places.
The next sections along the
Sentier du Nozon will be less technical but more speedy back to Romainmotier. Head back to La Sarraz via Croy and a few roads along the northeast outskirts of Bois de ChĂȘnes.
