Description

Connects Trail #230A and Trail #1 to make full route from Coldwater Lake to Mt. Margaret and beyond.

A few fun technical and steepness challenges you will likely have to walk. Snow patches often into early July near the top, but generally fine earlier if you don't mind walking across a bit of snow. Best when damp from rain or snow-melt since surface is loose in places.

Great views get even better if you continue to Trail #1 for among most spectacular views of any trail in the region, including multiple mountains and lakes. In fall you may hear elk bugling and find plentiful huckleberries.

Snow starts on traverse before St. Helens lake - will be better in a few weeks. Beautiful but hard and some exposure.
