Overview
Just what you would expect from central PA riding; great rocky technical singletrack with some doubletrack and "driveable" trails. This loop will have you grinning from ear to ear.
Need to Know
Open to hunting, and best ridden when foliage is low.
Description
This loop includes a mix of trails, some more heavily used than others. DO NOT expect to see another human on this loop or to use a cell phone. You are remote especially in the middle sections.
From Bear Gap Picnic Area, climb up Red Ridge Road to get the legs warm (~1 mile) then hit the
Bull Hollow Trail.
Bull Hollow Trail has some good flow and good tech before a techy descent to Wolf Gap where you cross the stream and head back up Bull Hollow (you'll double back here on the way back).
A lot of the trails are not marked out here other than a random blaze so it's best to have a map or the
MTB Project mobile app. Follow Bull Hollow out of Wolf Gap to the second trail on the left (unmarked and slightly hidden). After a short, steep climb, you hit the ridge top and the start of
Little Mountain Trail.
Follow
Little Mountain Trail until you hit the road and turn right. Almost at the bottom, turn right onto Bull Hollow dirt road. The dirt road eventually turns into doubletrack before you hit the intersection where you went up to
Little Mountain Trail. Follow Bull Hollow back to Wolf Gap and down to Hunter Rd. to return to the picnic area or stay on Bull Hollow and return the same way you came in.
