Description

Jackass Ridge Trail, a multi-use trail, can be ridden in either direction. To get a nice downhill ride, go from north to south.

In 2015, the northern end was rerouted so riders could bypass Misery. The climb up now is much more gradual and wooded. Once on the ridge, the climbing doesn't start but the views of Weaverville begin. This top part of the ridge is good for wildflowers in the spring that seem to last a bit longer than in other parts of the basin.

Once at the top, the descent begins with singletrack. After a brief doubletrack section, keep an eye to the right for the return of the singletrack.

The final bomb is down doubletrack that was cut as a firebreak on the top of the ridge. Continue as the trail goes all the way to town or turn off onto one of the other basin trails.
