This trail is open starting in May and is best ridden before August when cows are released. Flowers are in bloom until mid June.

Description

This is 1.6 miles of excellent singletrack through pinyon pine and juniper forest with 629 feet of descent that connects with Solar Coaster. Recent trail work has this trail in pristine condition. There are four ways down from the rest area and this is the best trail (Elk Canyon is a close second). There are also two primitive ridge roads that are enjoyable.

This trail connects with Gutterball (via Solar Coaster and Elk Canyon) to take you to the fence line at the bottom, but you can vary your route each time down. If you miss the road that takes you east over the ridge and into Paine Basin, you can still have an enjoyable ride as there are only two primitive roads with no cars allowed and they both go south. Since one dead ends at the radio tower and the other dead ends at an overlook of Independence Valley, you can't get lost. Just turn around, head north, and you'll eventually end up at the rest area where your car is.

Pond at the bottom of Nanny Creek. The trail was a bit muddy, but otherwise in decent condition, a few roots sticking out and some rocky sections. I did this trail uphill; some sections were a tough climb..

Just driving thru to SLC. Got the drop from the rest area. Really pretty ride. Tons of fun. Simple singletrack, no jumps or features, but fast fun! 5.2mi
