Description

Old GA 2 is a northern access to the west side of the Cohutta Wilderness and a couple of mountain biking trails. From US 441, the first 1.8 miles is paved and then it turns to gravel. It passes a lot of mountain houses and churches up until about the intersection with Doogan Tower Road (FS 1) and then to the east it enters the National Forest proper.

The main reason you might ride this is as part of a short loop with the Iron Mountain Trail (#77) and Doogan Tower Road (FS 1). Or if you're really crazy, you can sign up for the Cohutta 100 and circumnavigate the entire Cohutta Wilderness.
