Need to Know
Be careful going down the stairs past the water tank. Steps are 6 -10 inches tall and there are sandbags across portions of the trail preceding.
Description
The trail begins in Anaheim Hills near the intersection of Canyon Mist Lane and Creekview Lane, across from the Deer Canyon Preserve entrance. Climb up the wide dirt path between housing tracts to the corner of Sunset Ridge and Canyon Creek. Cross the road and continue on the horse path on the other side.
Take the first sharp right (uphill) and then a quick left (to avoid a super steep path) and climb towards the large pale green water tank. Turn left at the top of the climb, heading down and past the water tank to the stairs. WALK BIKE DOWN STAIRS.
Continue on the dirt path past the apartment parking to the (usually pine cone-covered) climb up to Serrano crosswalk. Cross Serrano (use caution, Serrano can have heavy high speed traffic at times) and continue on the dirt path to the left of the horse trail on the opposite side.
The trail connects to access for the
Weir Canyon Trail at this point. Head north (downhill) to the
Santa Ana River Trail & Parkway (Section 2) and south (uphill) to Blue Sky Road and Weir Canyon Wilderness.
