Access to this trail is best via Tiger Canyon Road FS #65 to Government Mountain Road FS #6511. The later is rugged and not well-maintained. A four wheel drive or high clearance vehicle is recommended. The trailhead is about 2.5 miles from Tiger Canyon Road and it poorly marked. You'll pass the trail marker for North Fork Walla Walla Trail and proceed another 0.25 miles to find it on the right.

Need to Know

There is no water or restrooms on this trail.

Description

This is a ridge-line trail that descends about 600 feet over its nearly two miles. There are great views of Tiger Canyon, West Tiger Creek, and Mill Creek are part of the journey. This trail at one time connected with West Tiger Creek Trail #3229. A storm in the late 1990s washed away a good portion of the descending trail and it is no longer accessible. USFS Umatilla National Forest staff have identified replacement of a connecting trail as a priority. BMLT Blues Crew performed trail maintenance in July 2018.
