Either direction is acceptable. This is mapped counter-clockwise, which is slightly more fun. Turning right at the split, the singletrack swings around the western side of the mountain. This is one of the more rocky areas with numerous football-sized rocks jutting out along a narrow trail. Nothing too technical but will require some skill to navigate.

Soon after the split, another trail shoots off from a second split for Limekiln Ridge. Stay straight to stay on the Loop. As the trail smooths out along the southern edge, expect periodic sections of the same rocky material. East and north sections are considerably smoother overall and if you want to ditch the loop at the old ATV track, it's not too steep to descend.
