Round Knob picnic area is an old CCC recreation area. There is a nice pavilion and a vault toilet at the top. There are great views of the valley below on the climb up. This area is little used by mountain bikers so you are not likely to see many people on the trails.

This is a warm weather ride due to the many creek crossings.

Park at the small pull-off on the corner of Greystone Rd and Walters Rd. If you can't manage a shuttle, you'll have to climb Round Knob Road twice. To set a shuttle, drop a vehicle at the small pull-off on Greystone Rd, then drive up Round Knob Road and park at the picnic area and begin your ride from there.

If no shuttle, then park at the pull-off and ride up Walters Rd then turn left on Round Knob Road. At the top of Round Knob, take a right on Davis Creek Trail #19. Descend Davis Creek then turn right on Shelton Mission Rd. Follow Shelton Mission then turn right on Greystone Rd, then turn right on Round Knob Road and make the climb again to the top.

At the top, take a left on Cowbell Hollow #24. Descend to Jennings Creek Trail #21. Follow Jennings Creek to Old Forge Road, then turn left on Doctors Ridge Trail #194. Follow this trail back to Greystone Rd and your vehicle. There are many creek crossings on this entire route so plan accordingly.
