How to reach to the trail:
First of all, the bikers must reach to Yenokavan Village by car, then start riding. Please, use taxi service with taximeters.
Description
Bike trail description:
This trail is located in Lori and Tavush, the most forested provinces of Armenia. The trail has two peaks, one has a 1781 meter altitude from the sea level, another one 2020 meters. After these peaks, the trail is continuously descending.
Monuments description:
Before starting the ride, it is suggested to visit Lastiver Cave in Yenokavan Village, Haghartsin Monastery in Haghartsin Village, Goshavank Monastery in Gosh Village, and Parz and Gosh Lakes in Dilijan National Park. Lastiver Cave was a shelter for the locals during the Mongol invasions in 13-14th Centuries. There is a miraculous waterfall near the cave. Dsegh Village has a house museum of Hovhannes Tumanyan who was a legendary poet in Armenian literature. In his house museum, bikers can explore the life of ancient Armenian villagers. On the southeastern part of the trail, Tsover, a small and beautiful lake, is located.
Flora:
The half of the province is covered with forests. In some places, there are fruitful trees of pomegranate, peach, apricot, olive, lemon, etc, and wild trees of beech, oak, hornbeam, lime, and maple.
Fauna:
The province has rich fauna. In the forests, there are deer, Caucasian bears, wild pig, rabbits, foxes, panther, etc.
