“A 3.5 mile linear packed gravel rail-trail between Joplin and Webb City.
”
Family Friendly
The trail is easy to ride with a smooth, packed, gravel surface and a flat grade.
Recommend avoiding the south parking lot and portion of trail after dark due to high crime area.
Need to Know
There is a full service bike shop and coffee shop at the north access point in Webb City.
Description
The Frisco Greenway is a smooth packed, fine gravel surface trail that runs between north Joplin and Webb City. Much of the trail is shaded by tree canopy and there is a nice bridge over Turkey Creek where it intersects a paved trail managed by the City of Joplin. The south third of the trail crosses through a small urban forest while the north two thirds are mostly bordered by residential areas. The Frisco is popular with casual cyclists and runners, and can be fairly crowded when the weather is nice.
There are 3 primary access points: the south terminus of the trail, the intersection of St. Louis/Zora, and one near the northern terminus behind the bike shop in Webb City. A short segment of trail extends north of Hwy 171; however it seems very little use due to the difficult highway crossing.
