Description

San Juan Creek Trail in Casper's Wilderness Park (not to be confused with the "real" San Juan Trail starting at Blue Jay Campground) is basically a 3.5 mile connector. It can be ridden as an out-and-return or as part of a bigger loop that takes you to great places like Badger Pass, Oso Trail and Cold Springs Trail.

Unfortunately, most of its length is affected by significant traffic noise from Ortega Highway (SR-74), but offers some nice views to the west. It is all doubletrack with a technical level of Advanced-Beginner with a few short but steeper 25% to 30% grade descents. Seasonal erosion with deep ruts could increase the technical level on a couple of the short descents. There is at least one creek crossing of San Juan Creek which could get wet. There is also an option to ride Mesa Loop Trail but it really isn't much different from riding San Juan Creek Trail.
