This trail begins at a cool wooden bridge that crosses the Beaver Creek. Once you cross the bridge, turn left and head up into the pine forest to follow the newly re-routed section that avoids the Jeep road.
The trail climbs gradually up the hill and has been modified recently to include some nice red dirt in the turns to provide extra traction for your descent later on. At the top of the climb, there are some nice views looking out over Red Hill Pass on 285, and then you descend back to a beautiful meadow where you can connect to
South Crooked Creek Trail #771. Either turn back for a short out-and-back or use the following options to extend your ride:
To extend your ride into an easy lollipop, turn right on
South Crooked Creek Trail #771 until it ends at
Crooked Creek Road #669 and turn left. After about 0.5 miles, turn left to stay on
Crooked Creek Road #669 and climb up the hill until you reach
South Crooked Creek Trail #771 again on your left. Take this trail back to the intersection of Crooked Beaver Trail and head back the way you came.
For a more strenuous lollipop, turn left at the end of the trail onto
South Crooked Creek Trail #771 for a quick ride to where it meets
Crooked Creek Road #669 and take a left. Climb on this road for a little more than two miles until it dead-ends at some singletrack.
Take this trail,
Crooked Creek Trail #748, back downhill for a fun mile-long descent. When this trail ends at
Crooked Creek Road #669, take a right and head back to
South Crooked Creek Trail #771 to return from where you came.
