Description

The trail starts near the Environment Education Centre on the Broken River Skifield road. The trail can be ridden either way but best from north to south.

The trail starts with an easy descent to a bridge across Broken River then zig-zags up about 60 metres to pass through a dracophyllum-covered clearing which lends the name to the trail. Further along the trail crosses two branches of Cuckoo Creek before emerging into open tussock country before finally descending into and climbing out of Tims Creek 350 metres before reaching the Mt Cheeseman Skifield road and the start of the Hogs Back track.
