Description

Best ridden north to south, the trail starts on the Mt Cheeseman Skifield road and soon begin a 150-metre climb up the side of the Hogs Back hill. There are some steepish sections before the trail levels out on a ridge followed by a short rocky descent with a couple of switchbacks before sidling around to cross Waterfall Creek.

After the creek, there is a fun descent down a spur with loose stones on some of the corners through a patch of beech forest to Long Creek. The trail now sidles across open country to the last 40-metre climb where you are rewarded with a fast descent all the way into Castle Hill Village.
