The Neuse River Trail follows the Neuse River from the dam below Falls Lake all the way to the Johnston County Line. Most of the trail passes under or over intersecting roads, keeping riders/walkers from having to deal directly with vehicle traffic.

Several bridges carry the trail over the river, providing the chance for good views of the river.

The trail connects to several other paved greenways providing access to various parts of Raleigh, Wake Forest, and other neighborhoods.

The trail passes thru or near several Raleigh City parks.

Access to the trail is available at 14 different points that provide parking.
