Need to Know

The top end is hard to find. It is located a short ways off Buffalo Pass Road 60 by using the Hayden Archer Connector 305.1.

Description

This newly constructed trail is a fantastic addition to the growing destination of trails in the Buffalo Pass area. It's a good steady climb but a more fun descent. Consider taking the road up and riding down if you're only going to do this in one direction.

The trail initially makes big lazy switchbacks through flower meadows with nice views of the local mountains. You wind through playful gardens of huge boulders before diving into stands of aspen and pine. There are a few places of slight loose rock, but overall this is a pretty mellow trail that will put a smile on anyone's face.

The trail ends along Flash of Gold 1022.1. It's highly recommended to take a right and continue down that trail, which is slightly easier and at least as fun! Following Flash of Gold 1022.1 will take you to the main car parking area on Buffalo Pass Rd near the Dry Lake Campground.

This trail is lots of fun as a downhill, and I saw a handful of riders climbing up as well. Both directions are fun, but obviously dh is where it's at! 11mi — 1h 40m

This would be a drag dh, but as a climbing access it's pretty spectacular. Never easy, but never frustratingly technical. Really enjoyable.
