This is not just the name of the trail but a description of the Sarlacc Attack 50K course, held May 7, 2022. It is beautiful and adventure-y.

The loop combines The Edge and Sarlacc trails to make up an epic adventure. You'll ride on the edge of cliffs and your limits. World class singletrack, uphill grinds, and flowy descents are abundant on the Edge Loop. The Sarlacc trail section is some of the most fun singletrack on the course.

This desert 50K course is a test of stamina and gives a reason to train. With the combination of many short ups and downs and the big climb up the mesa, this course will definitely push riders.

Starting at the main parking lot at 18 Road, you can take a number of ways to start your ride. The most interesting way would be to climb Prime Cut to Frontside. This singletrack will dead end into a dirt road which ascends a beautiful canyon to the start of the Sarlacc climb.

Although this climb starts out gradually, it turns into the biggest physical challenge of the day.

As the trail tops out, a nice pay-off begins. The end of Sarlacc will spit you out on the road where the second steep climb begins. While this climb is steeper than the first, it is on hard packed dirt road and is less demanding and more just a good grind.

The high point of the road is around mile 22 and begins a fast, loose descent on the road until you make a sharp right turn (don't miss it) back onto singletrack. This is where the adventure begins as you go in and out of loose singletrack, narrow washes and navigate your way through dry river beds.

The loop ends with a tour of the amazing flowy singletrack that 18 Road is known for.
