Let the good times begin! Cannonball Run is an intermediate downhill-only trail with optional black diamond lines featuring jumps and drops.

The climb up is a bit punishing but the rewards on the downhill are well worth it. Stop to enjoy the 360-degree panoramic view on the top of Ely with a cold beverage before following the Ely hiking trail west on a granite traverse.

Bang a right about 0.25 miles down the hiking trail where Cannonball Run awaits. The trail starts off with a traverse up and over some boulders and rocks before descending into ferns and tall trees. Next up is a chute lined with granite boulders culminating with 760 Rock, which is a tight squeeze for anyone with handlebars wider than 760mm.

Riders will then pop out onto a granite outcropping and descend a steep, loose rocky chute into turn after turn of steep, slappy singletrack. Experienced riders should keep their eyes out for small lips to pop off of and double features on the trail. A larger stump drop will be added in the future.

The slope of the bottom half of Cannonball Run is not quite as aggressive but still tons of fun. Here the singletrack gets into more of a flow style including a few smallish jumps. Midway down is a nice step-down while big berms and a finish line jump await at the bottom.
