Description

From Monarch Pass, climb on singletrack around the west of the ridge. Soon, you'll reach the sign for Old Monarch Pass, and you'll climb on a service road above the Monarch Mountain ski area.

After leaving the ski area behind, you're back on singletrack until you reach a high point, and then it's a steep switchback descending down to Boss Lake and beyond.

More forested singletrack riding as you start climbing up the Middle Fork of the South Arkansas until you reach Middle Fork Road 230 and Hancock Lake Trail.
