Description

This trail used to see more traffic than it seems to these days. This is one of the few trails that can be easily accessed from the Virginia Creeper.

The trail markers that once were there have disappeared but blue blazes still adorn many trees along the route. The trail can be accessed from Creek Junction Rd or from right beside the large trestle were the Appalachian Trail splits off the Creeper.

Once under the trestle, the trail crosses the creek before climbing the ridge on the other side. The trail is old skidder road that has slowly turned to singletrack in sections. After about three miles, the trail comes to a gate and turns to proper doubletrack.
