The canal bank is closed between Sunnyside and Fowler. You have to detour on Shepherd.

Overview

This is a paved route that mostly follows wooded canal trails through the outskirts of Clovis. There are parks, restrooms, and several parking places along the way. Morning or early evening will find the trail mostly shaded.

The canal bank is closed between Sunnyside and Fowler so you need to detour on Shepherd. There is a gravel shoulder to keep you out of traffic.

Description

For about a third of the route, you can choose to ride on dirt instead of pavement. You could call it an Ale Trail as there are five breweries within a half mile of the route: Incinerati, Machine Head, Crow and Wolf, Riley's, and 559.
