Overview

Great addition to the Glorietta trails! Signs warn about leaving valuables exposed so pay them heed. Solid intermediate climb and descent but advanced riders have some big air opportunities and a gnarly rock jump. These are easily bypassed for intermediate riders.

Description

Park at the trailhead near the zip-line operation: you'll see a trailhead sign. Take singletrack trail to "Cairn Me Up" (the entrance is marked with a sign about 1/4 mile from the start) begin climbing and note that there two legally-created bypasses ( called Electric Avenue) which shorten the length but are somewhat steep although the entire climb is a fun and aerobic workout with plenty of switchbacks with rocky sections.

There are some areas that require the correct line to climb so keep your focus. You can see the bypasses on the map and they are slightly more steeper and rockier; either way, the trail is quite evident. Great viewpoint at the top. Note that you'll pass the entrance to "Jagged Axe" just before the turn-off to Chips and Salsa.

The climb is about 4 miles and the descent about 1. This is a professionally built trail and the downhill has well-made banked and bermed turns and the jumps are spaced nicely with good landing zones.
