This trail starts at the main parking lot and runs in a west direction. It is part of the Sand Trails Improvement Plan, an ongoing cooperative effort by the National Forest Service Sandia Ranger District, Friends of Sandia Mountains, Placitas Area Trail Association, and Albuquerque Mountain Bike Association.

This is a green trail which gives access to the western Placitas area. It undulates around pinon, juniper and gentle hills. It crosses several other new green trails and is a nice way to make several loops. E-bikes are not allowed.
