Description
The middle route around Ettlingen is a great tour for weekend trips. It has easy climbs and descents, with some singletrack and trail sections. It is easy to get their by train. Highlights are the view from the
Bismarck Tower.
It starts on the
Panoramaweg, where you ride up and follow then the way to Schluttenbach. From there the route goes further to the south until the Carl-Schöpf-Hütte. This is the first turning point of the route. From here you follow the way to Schöllbronn, past the forest bath and then to the Solbrunnen. The next section leads you on forest roads, gravel ways and single trails down to the Albtal and ends near the starting point.
After crossing the bridge the way leads uphill on gravel paths, and you stay on gravel and forest ways until you hit the most northern point of the tour. Here, direction turns and we follow the path to the Wattkopf. From there a trail goes down to the Friedrichshütte. The last part of the route goes past the Bismarck Tower, then enter Ettlingen, follow the route past the Johannes Church to the starting point of the tour.
