Need to Know

The singletrack ends about 0.5 miles before the end of the trail. An old roadbed is used for the final segment to the north east trailhead. It can be bypassed by heading straight east if you'd like a shorter way back to Blue Canyon Trail or Black Canyon Trail, which you can reach from the county road.

Description

The Descansos Trail starts at the ridgeline on the Gramont Peak Trail and extends north along the ridge before dropping down to the east to a trailhead by the Shrine. The ridgeline segment features rock outcroppings and other technical challenges along with some great views of the area.

Descansos is probably the most scenic, technical and fun trail in the Box-Enterprise trail network.
