Description

Getting There
This trail is located on Forest Road 50. To get to the trailhead start by navigating to the intersection of HWY 260 and FR 50. The trail is approximately 0.9 miles from this intersection so start your trip odometer here. Turn south on FR 50. Drive past Tall Timbers Park. Continue on FR 50. You'll pass 3 cattle guards total including the cattle guard at the intersection of FR 50 and HWY 260. After the final cattle guard the trail will be on the left side of the road. Park here and get ready to ride.

The Trail
From the parking and trailhead begin east down the trail. The first section of the trail follows a water drainage. You'll quickly come to a T. At the T turn right to ride the loop counter-clockwise. Next you'll have to ride through 2-3 sandy sections. Sandy sections like there are the main reason this trail is rated blue and not green. Eventually, you'll come to a sharp left turn. The section after the turn is the main uphill section.

On your right will be the connection to Maze Trail. Continue straight past this and work to the highest elevation point in the trail. Begin the fun downhill section. Try not to loose too much speed on the sharp turn. This is the last sharp turn. Pick up speed and weave in and out of the stud piles (horse excrement). Get some air on the two small mounds. Be aware of a few sandy sections at the north end of the loop.

Once you start heading uphill again you'll be close to the T where we turned onto the loop. Take the right to go back to the trailhead or continue straight to do the loop again.

The feature on the south side next to Maze Trail looks like no one has tried it in a while. I might have to hit the loop clockwise soon. 11.2mi — 2h 00m
