High consequence technical descent.
Description
This trail used to be an old pioneer road, but it's been reshaped into a downhill MTB trail, and a pretty good one at that! The trail is famous because of the Grafton Gap, a huge road gap that makes an optional part of this ride, but a top objective for local chargers. Expect rock rollers, square edges, and a few optional gaps and large drops.
The trail starts with a nonstop rock garden for the first 0.3 miles. The first feature is the highest consequence as it rides a section of trail where going right could be a day ender if you go right. Along the way, sticking to the larger rocks can actually make the riding easier, but some of these are closer to the edge than many would be comfortable with. It's common for people to pinch-flat in this section, so bring the right supplies and check your tire pressure before starting on this trail.
After making your way through the chunk and surpassing the first large switchback, you'll be rewarded with a fast and smooth singletrack laced with short, quick rock gardens. Hit a brief flat section and stick left for a fun rock drop to a wide ridgetop, then blast downward and back into singletrack. This track ends with a large, steep hill that can be rolled, dropped, and/or doubled into the road below. Once reaching the road, continue downhill where you'll cross under the obvious Grafton road gap and finish at the cemetery parking area.
