With great views, unique washes and beautiful ridgelines, this is a must-do route in the area!
Need to Know
This is also a hiking trail, so control your speed on the descent and be respectful of others on the trail.
Description
Park at the Thunderbird Gardens Trailhead. From here, begin your ascent eastward on the Ghost Flats trail, then quickly veer right onto the Thor's Hideout trail. Navigate steep climbs over loose rock and tight switchbacks before entering a beautiful sandstone canyon with challenging inclines. Stick to the Thor's hideout trail via obvious signs as you cross a parallel trail multiple times. Continue this way for 1.4 miles until you reach the top of Red Hollow.
Upon reaching the top of Red Hollow, follow a well-marked hiking trail downhill through fast corners and enjoyable rock features for the next 0.7 miles. Note that this route remains a hiking trail, but includes one interesting trail gap and a few optional wall rides. Be mindful of hikers as many people enjoy hiking here. Once you reach Cedar Canyon Road below, turn right and travel down the canyon for 900 yards before taking another right onto Razorback Wash.
Razorback Wash #6 offers a fun and unique climb through a narrow wash before summiting another hill. When you reach the top, follow the Razorback trail along unique ridgelines back to your car. If you still have energy, consider a bonus loop down
Razorback #5, which features an extremely exposed ridge (blue-level riding).
Reach the final road and take a right up canyon, and pedal 0.4 miles back to your car.
