Overview
Enjoy a good amount of climbing followed by a great descent back into town. This loop works well starting in Winter Park at the Cooper Creek Square parking lot, or from Fraser near Safeway.
Description
From Winter Park, head out through the Grand Park neighborhood paralleling Hwy 40. Go behind Murdochs and take a left onto CR72. Pass under the train bridge and take a left to stay on CR72 traveling behind the tubing hills.
Continue for a couple miles, passing through the Elk Creek TH. A couple hundred yards later, take a left onto
Iko Trail and climb. When you hit the top of
Iko, take a left (hoping on
Zoom for about 100ft until hitting the road).
Cross the road and ride
Upper Iko Trail. At the end of the trail take a hard right and start climbing the steep doubletrack to
Elk Creek Loop. At the next intersection stay left, and descend for a bit before traversing on
Upper Elk Loop.
Once you hit the next intersection, you'll take a right and climb toward the top of
Pinball Ridge. Pinball starts with a steep, fun descent until you hit the mid road. You climb a trail about 10' from the road and ascend a couple very steep switchbacks. The next section of Pinball is aptly named. Work hard to keep momentum while climbing and traversing across the ridge.
When you hit Leland Creek Road, take a left and ride for about 300ft before taking a right onto
D2 Green (a doubletrack road with a gate at the top). Ride down the road for about half a mile and take a right onto
WTB Trail.
Ride WTB until hitting
Akima's Way and take a left. This will connect you to
Razzmatazz (formerly "Howler") for a fun descent back into town. Once you hit the Leland creek trail, you can head down to the road, make your way across the train tracks and find your way back to the car.
