Description

This section of the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) connects the saddle at the top of Maud-S Trail to the bottom of the Our Lady of the Rockies statue. Although very ride-able, it is not an easy trail as it undulates steeply across the forested East Ridge, and because of its high elevation and relatively remote location, it does not see a lot of traffic.

People generally ride this trail for 2 reasons: to do a through-ride of the East Ridge / CDT (involves a shuttle or a really big loop, or more commonly to pay a visit to Butte's iconic statue.

Doing a through-ride is a big undertaking, as it involves the longer, more difficult and more remote Fairy Trail. For those up to the challenge it is an amazing adventure.

Visiting the statue will still be a big day of riding for most people, and know that the trail does not lead directly there, but rather connects to a steep doubletrack followed by a dirt road. At the end of Our Lady Trail, you'll still have over 1 mile of distance and 600 feet of climbing to get to your destination. The views from the top are worth it though, and the statue itself is surprisingly large.
