Overview
The Corrals Loop is a Boise foothills classic that offers a bit of everything—steep climbs, fun flowy downhills, and just enough technical challenge to keep things interesting. You've got a few parking options for this loop: we kicked things off at Miller Gulch, but you can just as easily start at the end of
Bob's Trail or the ridge pull-off on Bogus Basin Road.
The loop is just under 10 miles with 1,600 feet of climbing, so it's a solid workout with plenty of rewards along the way. Be prepared for those steep climbs and savor the flow on the way down. Just remember, there's not much shade out here, so if you're riding midday, be sure to stay hydrated and mindful of the summer heat. Trails covered in this loop include
Corrals Trail, Corrals Connector,
Bob's Trail, and
Highlands Trail—each adding its own flavor to this well-loved route.

Bob's Trail: A black diamond with technical sections—ride within your limits and watch for hikers on blind corners.
Description
Get ready to tackle the Corrals Loop—a challenging but super fun adventure that's well worth the effort!
We kicked things off at Miller Gulch, where the climb starts right from the parking lot. Don't let that first climb fool you; it's steeper than it looks, so pace yourself as you work your way up to
Corrals Trail. Once you connect, you'll find yourself on an old road with some fun frontage trails running parallel to it. Enjoy a quick descent down to a gate near Crane Creek, where the real work begins: the climb up to the famous rock pile. Keep an eye out for cows and the trail damage they might have left behind as you grind your way uphill.
From the rock pile, the downhill fun begins with fast 2-mile stretch leading to
Bob's Trail. This section is as speedy as you want it to be, with great visibility that lets you open up the speed a bit. But don't get too carried away, because
Bob's Trail is just around the corner, and it's time to head downhill.
Rated a black diamond,
Bob's Trail is all about line choice—everything's rollable, but there are some sneaky rock sections that can catch you off guard if you're bombing down too fast. And don't forget, this is a popular hiking trail, so watch out for blind corners and uphill traffic. (NOTE: in 2026, a downhill-only bike trail is coming to this area, so keep an eye out for that!)
After the excitement of Bob's, it's back to climbing—this time up
Highlands Trail as you make your way back to the Corrals Connector. This 2-mile, 500-foot climb might test your legs after all that downhill on Bobs. But the descent back to the Miller Gulch parking lot is the perfect reward. And just like that, you've conquered one of Boise's local favorites!
